The National Gallery is an art museum in Trafalgar Square. It was founded in 1824, which is good for heritage, tradition and credentials!
The Gallery consists of Free and Payable exhibitions, as well as Bookable Events. These are mostly daily, so the Summer Holiday would be a great time to see what’s top offer.
BRIEF HISTORY: In 1824 John Julius Angerstein’s 38 pictures were intended to form the core of a new national collection, for the enjoyment and education of all. the House of Commons agreed to pay a mouth watering at-the-time £57,000 for these works of art.
They initially were posted at 100 Pall Mall until a dedicated gallery building was constructed at the place in 1831 where it is today.
FUN FACT: The National Gallery houses a collection of over 2,300 paintings dating from the mid-13th century to 1900.
They also take donations, so please give when you can to make an established gallery even better by encouraging the next generation and to give better services.
When i vist I will write a TripAdvisor review, so stay tuned!
